Whether you find yourself stuck at home because of sickness, rainy days, or you're a homeschooling family, kids get a little wild after being inside for days on end. At least mine do! Living in such a tiny space, rainy days can be the worst. There isn't much room to spread out and just have "space," so nerves go on high alert.
And while we can't have a large number of craft supplies on hand, we do keep some stocked up. So what we don't have, we go get when we want to make something. One of my daughtersloves crafting. In fact, she has two bins in her cubby system completely dedicated to craft supplies, crayons, paper, ribbons, tape…and so much more!
The fun part of crafting is using some of the items around your house that you might normally throw away. For instance paper towel and toilet paper cardboard rolls. Or egg and milk cartons. These are everyday items that can easily be upcycled and reduce your waste – or at least put it off a bit.
Crafts are not only great for occupying kids, but they are wonderful for improving all different types of skills. Little ones can work on fine motor skills with cutting, drawing, or tracing. They can work on expanding their imaginations by creating their own crafts.
